Serving God and Neighbor
My Dear Parish Family:
This week is Thanksgiving! It is a perfect time for us, as a Nation, to stop what we normally do to give thanks to God for all that we have as a country, a parish and as families. This is the day we should spend with family and friends. A great way to begin the day is by coming to Mass. So, please let us join together on Thanksgiving morning for our only Mass of the day at 9:00am. Our church opens at 7:00am on Thanksgiving Day and opens at 7:00am on Friday, November 29th.
Please note: There will only be a 8:30am Mass cele- brated on Friday, Nov. 29th and Saturday, Nov. 30th this week and the Church will be locked after Mass on Friday for obvious security reasons. There will NOT be Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the Convent Chapel on Friday, Nov. 29th.
On Saturday, Nov. 30th, directly after the 4:00pm Vigil Mass, we will light and bless our Outdoor Christmas Tree and our Outdoor Manger scene. It will be the First Sunday of Advent and it will be a great time for us to proudly proclaim that:
“Jesus is the Reason for the Season” Happy Thanksgiving!
Be assured that Fr. Dan and myself are praying for you now and always.
Until next week, may you have a blessed Thanksgiving! St. Benedict, pray for us. Servant of God, Terence Cardinal Cooke. Pray for us.
Fr. Stephen P. Norton
